Who this is for

Eligible learners considering ICSI's Company Secretary course. CSEET is the entry test unless a current exemption applies. New admissions to the former CS Foundation Programme were discontinued; this existing page address is retained for continuity.

Clear communication. Sound judgement. A stronger professional foundation.

Understand the route before choosing your study plan

CSEET and Executive are separate stages with different assessment demands. Start with the stage you actually need.

A current entry route

CSEET replaced new admissions to the former CS Foundation Programme.

Communication and accounts

Connect a clear business explanation with the facts and figures behind it.

Law in context

Ask which provision applies, why it applies and what follows from it.

A staged progression

Move from entry foundations to Executive and later Professional requirements.

Exam pattern overview

Understand the structure so you can plan your preparation.

CSEET: Papers 1–3

Communication, Accounting, and Economic/Business Environment

Each subjective paper: 3 hours, 100 marks

CSEET: Paper 4

Business Laws and Management

OMR-based paper: 2 hours, 100 marks

Executive: Group 1

Four papers across law, business set-up and accounts/finance

Executive: Group 2

Three papers across capital markets, commercial/IP law and tax

The June 2026-onwards CSEET is not the older two-hour, remote-proctored four-part test. Follow the restructured syllabus and check Student Induction Programme requirements. Executive uses its own Syllabus 2022 papers and enrolment/pre-exam conditions. Check the institute's enrolment notice, syllabus, applicable amendments, exemptions and training requirements for your own examination term. Passing an examination is not the same as completing all qualification or membership requirements.

CSEET / CS Executive FAQ

Clear answers to common preparation questions.

Can I newly enrol in CS Foundation?

No. New admissions to the former Foundation Programme were discontinued in 2020. This page uses the existing cs-foundation address, but its current entry content is CSEET and Executive—not an active Foundation admission offer.

What changed in CSEET from June 2026?

The restructured test is centre-based and has four 100-mark papers. Business Communication, Fundamentals of Accounting, and Economic and Business Environment are subjective three-hour papers; Business Laws and Management is a two-hour OMR paper.

Is Logical Reasoning still a separate restructured CSEET part?

No. Do not reuse the old Legal Aptitude/Logical Reasoning and Current Affairs/Quantitative Aptitude four-part structure as the current syllabus. Follow the restructured four-paper curriculum.

How many papers are there at Executive?

Syllabus 2022 has seven papers across two groups: four in Group 1 and three in Group 2. Executive has its own examination and enrolment conditions, separate from CSEET.

Can I skip CSEET because of another qualification?

Some institute-specified qualifications can provide an exemption or other entry route. Check ICSI's current rules and your exact qualification before choosing a route; this page does not determine an individual exemption.
