Do not assume earlier question counts or timers

Read the current CAT information bulletin, test-day guide and official navigation instructions before your exam; institutional admission policies remain separate.

CAT FAQ
Clear answers to common preparation questions.
Does a strong CAT score guarantee an IIM place?
No. The official advertisement says meeting minimum eligibility does not ensure shortlisting. Each institution applies its own selection and admission process.
Is CAT only used by the IIMs?
Listed non-IIM member institutions may also use CAT scores. Their selection processes are their own; the IIMs do not decide admission on their behalf.
Should I assume a past paper’s question count will repeat?
No. Use the current official examination guide and navigation instructions. This page intentionally does not assert a fixed count, timer or marking table that has not been independently checked for the cycle.
What should I do after a difficult practice set?
Identify whether the issue was reading, representation, a concept gap or question selection. Rebuild the method without a timer, then return to a similar set and compare your reasoning.
