Who this is for

Eligible higher-secondary learners and school leavers considering the B.Tech admission route covered by the Manipal Entrance Test. Other MET programmes have different papers; this page focuses on undergraduate engineering.

Build the method. Then build your confidence.

Why MET matters

A programme-specific entrance route—check the B.Tech paper rather than borrowing a pattern from another MET course.

B.Tech route

MET supports admission to the listed participating engineering institutions.

Campus options

The 2026 common route includes Manipal, Bengaluru, Jaipur and Sikkim institutions.

Two answer formats

Prepare numerical answers as well as multiple-choice decisions.

Programme fit

Compare the eligibility and counselling requirements for your intended course.

MCQ marking

+4 correct; −1 incorrect; 0 unanswered

Numerical marking

+4 correct; no deduction for wrong or unanswered responses

Pattern shown from the 2026 official publication. Re-check the bulletin, syllabus and admission rules for your own examination year; later notices take precedence. The old 240-question pattern is not current: 240 is the maximum mark total in the 2026 B.Tech paper. Its official subject list does not include a separate General Aptitude section.

MET FAQ

Clear answers to common preparation questions.

Which MET programme does this page cover?

It covers the B.Tech paper. MET is also used for other undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, whose subjects and patterns can be different.

Does the B.Tech paper include General Aptitude?

The official 2026 B.Tech paper lists Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English. It does not list a separate General Aptitude section.

Is the penalty the same for both answer formats?

No. In the 2026 B.Tech scheme, incorrect MCQs lose a mark, while incorrect numerical-answer responses have no deduction. Always check the instructions for the format you are answering.

Does a MET rank guarantee my preferred course?

No. A rank is part of the applicable counselling process. Eligibility, available seats, programme choices and the admission rules also matter.
